A Little Bit About Our Upcoming Production: "Sense and Sensibility"!

The Kate Hamill adaptation of “Sense and Sensibility” was a huge hit when it performed at the Guthrie. In 2014, it premiered off-Broadway, and the critics loved it.

Here are just a couple of the things they said about Kate Hamill's adaptation:

With rave reviews like these, one can’t help but be excited to see this show perform on the CSS Stage! Performances are Nov. 3, 4, 9, 10,& 11 at 7:30pm and Nov. 5 & 12 at 2:00pm.

Have YOU Ever Wanted to be in a CSS Show?

Auditions are Tuesday (Sept. 12) and Wednesday (Sept. 13) for our next show, “Sense and Sensibility”! With 9 women roles, 6 men roles, and flex casting, there are plenty of roles available. No prior acting experience is necessary!

Here’s a brief plot synopsis to get you excited for the show:

Sense and Sensibility - A playful new adaptation of Jane Austen's beloved novel follows the fortunes (and misfortunes) of the Dashwood sisters - sensible Elinor and hypersensitive Marianne - after their father's sudden death leaves them financially destitute and socially vulnerable. Set in gossipy late 18th-century England, with a fresh female voice, the play is full of humor, emotional depth, and bold theatricality. Sense and Sensibility examines our reactions, both reasonable and ridiculous, to societal pressures. When reputation is everything, how do you follow your heart?

Brace Yourselves for a Fantastic Theatre Season!

After a few months of lazing in the summer heat and enjoying a break from classes, we are back fully recharged and ready to prepare our 2017-2018 theatre season! We could not be more excited for what we have in store for you all. First on the performance schedule is “Sense and Sensibility”. Auditions for this show are already next week! Don’t miss your chance to be part of an amazing show. Auditions will be September 12th and 13th at 6:30pm. (You don’t need to show up both days). There will be roles available for 9 women and 6 men with flex casting. Hope to see you at auditions!
