Do You Like Buttons???

Displaying IMG_3237.JPG

For every production we do here at CSS, our box office staff design and make an assortment of buttons for the show. We hand-make each and every one. For "Orestes: Blood and Light", we have created six unique designs and have crafted dozens of them. They will be free for audience members at the performances. Would you like a button? Come to "Orestes: Blood and Light" March 31 April 1, 6-8 at 7:30pm or April 2 & 9 at 2:00pm and one of these beautiful buttons can be yours!
As always, it is a pleasure to blog for you.
Have a great week everyone!

Get to Know Dawson Ness - The Star of Our Upcoming Production "Orestes: Blood and Light"!

If you come to CSS's production of "Orestes: Blood and Light", you may recognize a few faces. More than half the cast members in "Orestes" have been in at least one production during the 2016-2017 performance season. One of these familiar faces is Dawson Ness - a freshman here at CSS that was last seen as Delmount in "The Miss Firecracker Contest". He will be returning to the stage this time in a much more serious role as Orestes in "Orestes: Blood and Light". Here is what Dawson says about himself and this upcoming production...

Image result for theatre masks"You might be thinking,”Wait, isn’t that the guy from The Miss Firecracker Contest with that crazy hippie hair?” That’s right; his name is Dawson, fresh from the barber with a sleeker hairstyle. Dawson is a first-year student from Battle Lake, MN, though he suggests you defy this and keep your relationship with the Lake friendly and respectful. He is currently pursuing a double major in Secondary Education and Humanities. Dawson’s hobbies include pretending that he is invisible, going antiquing, and watching Netflix. Dawson likes to wear flannels and have frequent existential crises. He is a college student, after all. This is his second production at CSS."

You can see Dawson and the rest of the cast perform on the CSS stage March 31, April 1, 6-8 @ 7:30pm and April 2 and 9 @ 2:00pm.
Have a great week everyone!

With the Close of One Show, the CSS Theatre Prepares for the Next...

Greetings everyone!

After several phenomenal performances, the CSS theatre is now prepping for the next show. Within a few hours, the set was down after yesterday’s performance. I snuck a pic to show how drastically different the theatre looks now. Crazy how fast the set comes down, right?
Thank you to everyone that came to “The Miss Firecracker Contest”. The cast and crew are very grateful to have had such great audiences.

The CSS theatre is now gearing up for it’s next exciting production…
“ORESTES: BLOOD AND LIGHT”
Auditions for “Orestes: Blood and Light” were a success and we now have a cast! They will now be hard at work getting ready for performances.
Here’s our amazing cast:
Orestes …………. Dawson Ness
Electra …………... Keely Jackson
Helen ……………. Shayna Schafter
Slave …………….. Natasha Wagner
Menelaos ……….. Tim Kutz
Tyndareos ………. Richard Scrivener
Soldier ……………Delila Orlowski
Soldier …………... Matt Maybon

We have no doubt that they will end our Spring 2017 Theatre season with a bang. Here’s a little glimpse of what the show will be about:

As children, Electra and Orestes are banished by their mother after witnessing her brutally murder their father. Finally coming of age, they return to avenge King Agamemnon by killing Klytemnestra. The city divides over deciding their fate; should they be executed or banished? Inflamed by war, emotions escalate as many in the city are calling for blood…

Sound intense right?

Happy Valentine’s Day and have a marvelous week everyone!
